Assessments Overview for Adult Autism & ADHD
Every assessment includes a personalised Neurodiversity Guide and Diagnostic Summary Letter, regardless of diagnosis. Below, you will find information about the assessment process. You can find more information on the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section.
What's included?
Parts of the Adult Autism or ADHD Assessment

Pre-Session Online Questionnaires
A set of targeted, evidence-based questionnaires. These include screeners for common signs and experiences of adult Autism and/or ADHD, and a structured background questionnaire. This step usually takes around 1.5 to 2.5 hours and is completed at your own pace. It is essential for targeting the diagnostic session specifically to your needs.

Diagnostic Assessment Session (Online)
These are structured clinical interviews using internally recognised, gold standard diagnostic tools:
Autism Assessment
A 2-hour session using the MIGDAS-2 (Monteiro Interview Guidelines for Diagnosing the Autism Spectrum, Adolescent/Adult version, Second Edition). This tool is often preferred by Autistic people for its strengths-based style.
ADHD Assessment
A 2-hour session using the DIVA-5 (Diagnostic Interview for ADHD in Adults), a structured assessment tool considering symptoms across both childhood and adulthood. It has been validated in multiple languages and international studies.

Personalised Neurodiversity Guide
Written in plain language and outlines how you tend to think, communicate, and experience the world around you. It includes highlights of how you process information, manage tasks, relate to people, what you find stressful or calming.
Each section has an explanation of your strengths, potential challenges and recommended tools to build your personal toolkit.

Diagnostic Summary Letter
A formal summary letter written for professional or official use about the assessment results, including confirming a diagnosis (if applicable).
The summary only includes only what is necessary to support communication with healthcare providers or workplace adjustment requests.

Assessment Timeline & Process
The typical turnaround from booking to results is around 2 to 3 weeks. Appointments are usually available within 2 weeks. Written results are provided within 2 to 5 days, and in many cases, a verbal diagnosis can be confirmed at the end of the session.

A Right Fit for You?
Adult Autism and ADHD assessments are a significant investment of time, energy, and money, so it’s important to choose an approach that matches your needs and style.
This approach is structured and efficient. Pre-session questionnaires are used to gather key information upfront, so the session can focus on clarity and confirmation. It’s faster overall but does require some independent work ahead of time.
Check below if this style suits your needs.

A right fit if you:
Need a comprehensive, fast-tracked assessment using gold-standard diagnostic tools
Prefer online sessions over in-person appointments
Are able to complete 2.5–3.5 hours of pre-session questionnaires independently
Are looking for a clear understanding of your strengths, challenges, and blind spots, regardless of diagnosis
Appreciate having two outputs: a plain-language Neurodiversity Guide for your own personal insights, and a formal diagnostic report summary that is suitable for sharing in professional or official contexts
Are prepared to invest time, focus, and financial resources to get structured answers
Still unsure? Check out our FAQs section.

Not a right fit if you:
Are looking for long-term therapy, open-ended exploration, case management, or connection with local services
Need a functional assessment for government services (e.g. NDIS, DSP, Centrelink)
Are only seeking an ADHD diagnosis for medication (this can only be done by a psychiatrist, so they’re the most appropriate assessors for that)
Prefer in-person attendance over online sessions
Prefer talking things through in real time rather than completing questionnaires independently
Would rather space the process out over several months, with more time to prepare and reflect between each step
